CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — On January 17th, 2023, the Circleville Police Department received reports of criminal damage and vandalism across the city.
Over 30 incidents of windows being shot out with pellets and zip guns were reported. After a thorough investigation and community tips, a suspect, Dylan Metcalf from Galloway, Ohio, was identified, and he and another individual, John Dewitt, were summoned to court on charges of criminal damaging in the Columbus Division of Police.
Evidence obtained from their vehicle indicated they were involved with the crimes that occurred on the night of January 17th in Circleville. On February 17th, detectives arrested Dewitt on charges of vandalism, tampering with evidence, and criminal damaging.
An arrest warrant for similar charges has been issued for Metcalf. The Circleville Police Department has filed over 60 charges between both individuals for damages sustained by residents of Circleville.
