Kathryn Ann Mace Wojcik, age 89, of Milford, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, February 15, 2023, at Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash.

She was born at home on February 27, 1933, in Convoy, Van Wert County Ohio, the eldest daughter of Lawrence Earl and Inas (Gardner) Mace.

Raised on her parents’ farm, Kathy attended Ohio Northern to become certified as a “cadet teacher.”  While attending a college science workshop, she created an insect collection with Charlie Victor Wojcik. They fell in love and married soon after on August 28, 1954, in Spencerville, Ohio.  She taught elementary school in Rockford, Ashtabula, and Convoy, Ohio. When Indian Hill High School hired her husband, Kathy and Charlie moved with their two daughters from Convoy to Madeira. She gave birth to her son and third daughter while living in Madeira.

In addition to raising her four children, Kathy served as office manager for Rixey & Proctor Insurance, Huntington Bank in Silverton, and Owens Brockway. Active in many aspects of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Madeira, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and founded and directed Summer Fun Club, a child care program.  Kathy’s interest in the world and youth led her to host an exchange student from Brazil, two from Colombia and one from Oregon. Charlie and Kathy Wojcik retired to Lake Lorelei where they relaxed and helped with activities including the publishing of the newsletter. To be closer to services and their children and grandson, they moved to Milford.  Kathy’s life was one of service and sharing her love of children, flowers, and birds.

Kathy is survived by her sisters, Romaine Whetstone, Jan Homan, and Earlene Rhodes, her children Dawn Wojcik, Amy (Wojcik) Cross, Victor Wojcik, and Inas (Wojcik) Mrabet, her son-in-law Otmane Mrabet, her grandchildren, Krizinne Cross, (her partner, Jerod Jardine), Ronald Cross, and Omar Mrabet, and her great-grandchildren Colten Jardine and Jasper Jardine.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, and her sister, Beth (Mace) Branstetter.

A service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
