CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Time is running out to submit your nominations for the Annual Pioneer Center Awards event, which recognizes the achievements and contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities and those who support them in the community. The event includes multiple award categories, such as the Barnhart Caregiver Award, the Clark Alexander Business Award, and the Stauffer/Maddox Inclusion Award, among others.
The Barnhart Caregiver Award honors an organization or individual who has provided exceptional care and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities while advocating for their quality of life. The Clark Alexander Business Award recognizes a local business partner who promotes inclusion for individuals with disabilities in the community. The Stauffer/Maddox Inclusion Award honors a person or group who has made outstanding contributions to developing and enhancing community services for adults with developmental disabilities.
The Distinguished Adult Achievement Award is given to two adults who have demonstrated hard work and perseverance in the face of personal and societal barriers, while the Distinguished Student Achievement Award recognizes students who have exceeded expectations and exhibited persistence in overcoming obstacles. The Provider Recognition Award is given to independent or agency providers who have gone above and beyond expected services and support. At the same time, the Service & Support Administrator of the Year award recognizes an SSA who has shown commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and high-quality support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Finally, the Marriott Achievement Award is given in honor of Rick Marriott, a former leader at the Pioneer Center, and recognizes an individual or group who has contributed significantly to the education of children with disabilities.
