CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Kiwanis Club and Ross County Ministerial Association are set to host the annual Ohio Statehood Day Prayer Celebration on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 8:30 am. The First Presbyterian Church of Chillicothe, located at 13 Mead Drive, will be the host venue for the event.
This year’s celebration will recognize Paul Pollard as the recipient of the Statehood Day Achievement Award for his community service and humanitarian deeds, which best represent the “Spirit of Ohio.” Pollard founded Rock for Tots in 1985, alongside some friends, to raise funds and provide food, toys, and clothing to underprivileged families during the holiday season.
Rock for Tots has raised thousands of dollars over the past 37 years, benefitting various children’s organizations and funding scholarships and an endowment. The organization’s mission is to assist, empower, and provide opportunities to area children’s organizations while promoting confidence-building through music, mentoring, and educational programs.
Pollard is being recognized for his outstanding commitment to the betterment of the community and the spiritual growth of the soul. He is also honored for his love of family, concern for the beauty of the region, and brotherhood to mankind.
