FRANKFORT, Ohio — The Highway Patrol in Chillicothe has released more information about a school bus crash on Monday that was carrying students.

Troopers said five students were on the bus when it crashed.

The crash happened involving a school bus from Paint Valley Local Schools and a pickup truck at around 4 p.m. on Owl Creek Road. On the bus were five students and the driver, according to the patrol.

“While both the [school bus] and Dodge were negotiating a curve, they made contact between the east and west lanes of travel,” said Sergeant Tyler Ross, with the patrol. “The Thomas Built was occupied by five children – all of whom reported no injuries.”

Both drivers said they were hurt, but each refused transport to the hospital, Ross added.

A request for comment for this story from Paint Valley Local Schools went unreturned.
