JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — An Oak Hill man has been taken into custody for allegedly possessing child pornography materials. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies, in collaboration with the Oak Hill Police, acted on a tip and took 76-year-old Allen J. Deverick of Morgan St. in Oak Hill into custody on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
According to the complaint filed in the Jackson County Municipal Court, Deverick had created, reproduced, or published obscene material that had a minor as one of its participants between February 12 and February 26, with knowledge of the character of the material or performance involved.
The complaint further stated that the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office had received a tip that Deverick was in possession of pornographic material involving children. Following this, a search warrant was obtained for Deverick’s apartment on Morgan St.
During the search, a large collection of pornography involving minors engaging in sexual acts was discovered, many of which had been downloaded to a cell phone. Deverick admitted to possessing the materials.
He was taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility, where he is currently awaiting arraignment for pandering obscenity of a minor. Additional charges are pending, and Jackson County Prosecutor Randy Dupree is reviewing the case for possible additional charges.
