CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department conducted a drug raid this week on the city’s east side. The Chillicothe Police SWAT Team raided the residence located at 857 Adams Avenue on Wednesday, March 8th.
Officials say the search resulted in the seizure of a number of items associated with drug trafficking.
According to reports obtained by the Guardian, the investigation into drug trafficking began when detectives received information about suspicious activity at the home. A residential search warrant was drafted and signed by Judge John B. Street, and the SWAT team was called in to assist with the search.
Upon entering the residence, the reports state, the SWAT team located a resident in a bedroom. The police department said a thorough search of the property was conducted and several drug paraphernalia items, including syringes, glass pipes, digital scales, and sandwich baggies were seized.
In addition to the paraphernalia, police say, the team found a green tray with white residue, a blue container with bags of green vegetation, and a .32 caliber revolver with ammunition. They also found a brown box with white rocks, a plastic baggie with a crystalline substance, a burnt spoon with white loose residue, and several plastic baggies with white rocky substance.
Officials say that charges are pending the results of the lab tests.
The investigation into drug trafficking in the area is ongoing, and the police department urges anyone with information about drug activity to come forward.
