ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — On March 9th, 2023, the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force conducted an investigation at a residence located at 24741 Brimstone Road, Coolville.

The investigation, officials said, led to the discovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia at the property.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. Jack E. Fox, aged 45 and residing on Brimstone Road in Coolville, was arrested for two counts of Possession of Drugs. Miranda M. Casteel, aged 36 and also residing on Brimstone Road in Coolville, was arrested for a Violation of Parole by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.

Sheriff Smith expressed his gratitude to the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, Athens County Prosecuting Attorney Keller J. Blackburn, Chief Investigator Jay Barrett, Investigators with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, and Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
