PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — One person was transported to the hospital following a serious crash Monday morning in Pike County. 

It happened around 8:30 a.m. in Benton Township. 

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, a 2013 Hyundai Accent driven by Rickie L. Grooms of Piketon was traveling eastbound along Route 124 when the driver failed to negotiate a right curve, traveling off the left side of the road, striking a traffic sign, a ditch, and then overturning, coming to final rest on its top. 

Grooms was transported by EMS to Adena Pike Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The crash, authorities said, remains under investigation.
