CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — One person was shot Friday evening in Chillicothe, sending the local hospital into a frenzy.
The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 800 block of Akron Street.
Police and medics found one person shot in the stomach, according to first responders, when they arrived at the scene. The victim was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, where the hospital was placed on lockdown; all doors leading into the hospital were locked and no one was allowed inside until the victim was flown from the hospital by medical helicopter.
Police are looking for a suspect in the shooting, who they said is considered armed and dangerous.
Cayne Cordell Smith, 25, is wanted for questioning. Police said if you see him, call 911.
The events leading up to the shooting were not immediately released. The names of those involved were not released.
