SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — The Scioto County Grand Jury has recently convened, resulting in 23 public indictments being handed down. The defendants indicted are facing a range of charges, according to Shane A. Tieman, the Scioto County Prosecutor.
Among the indicted is Derek Patton, a 36-year-old from West Portsmouth, Ohio, who has been charged with failure to appear as required by recognizance. Meanwhile, Daniel Cocarteu, a 61-year-old from Lorain, Ohio, has been charged with multiple counts of felonious assault, endangering children, and breaking and entering.
Other indictments include charges for aggravated burglary, theft, possession of drugs, identity fraud, kidnapping, and intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case.
The defendants will have their day in court to face their charges, and the prosecutor’s office will continue to provide updates on the cases as they become available.
