FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — A student at the Miami Trace Middle School in Fayette County is in hot water today after they were allegedly overheard making a threat against the school. The school administration and Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, officials said, immediately took action, and it has been determined that there are no ongoing safety concerns stemming from the incident.
The school superintendent, Kim Pittser, released a statement to Miami Trace families, reminding them that making a threat to a public school is a direct violation of the school’s code of conduct and may have serious consequences. Pittser also expressed gratitude for the partnership with Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, which helped ensure the safety of students and staff.
It is unclear at this time what consequences the student who made the threat will face, or what specific actions were taken by the administration and the sheriff’s office.
