CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Autism and Special Needs Parent to Parent Support Group is hosting a free family safety night this April. The event, which will take place on April 20th from 6-7:30pm at the Pioneer Recreation/Teen Center located at 901 Toledo Street, is open to all special needs families.

The support group is dedicated to providing resources and support for families who have children with autism or disabilities. The family safety night will feature Deputy Weber of the Ross County Sheriff’s Department, who will discuss Project Lifesaver, a program that helps families locate loved ones who may wander off due to various conditions. Families will also have the opportunity to take part in the Kids Print Program.

Representatives from Angel Sense, a GPS safety tracker company, will also be in attendance to share information about their products and services.

In addition to these resources, families will have access to general safety resources, tools, and handouts. Refreshments will also be provided.

Kristen Smith, an organizer of the event, encourages families to RSVP to [email protected] by April 17th to ensure there is enough food for everyone. She can also be contacted at 740-507-3681 for any questions regarding the event.
