CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Authorities are investigating the death of a local woman whose body was discovered in an open field near the CSX rail yard on South Rose Street Friday afternoon.
According to a police report obtained by the Guardian, dispatchers received a 911 call from an individual who found the deceased person. Police arrived at the scene and spoke with the caller, who showed them the location of the body.
The woman was later identified as 45-year-old Amy Cunningham. Police said Cunningham was wearing a hospital bracelet at the time of her discovery.
The cause of death has not been released, and detectives stated that the investigation into her death is ongoing. No information has been provided on how her body came to be located in that area.
