ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — On April 27 and 28, a joint operation known as B.R.I.D.G.E. (Bridging Recovery and Interdiction Data Gathering Enforcement) brought together multiple federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as state and local treatment providers, to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse in Ross County.
According to Ross County George W. Lavender, law enforcement officers and treatment providers worked together to remove drugs and drug traffickers from the community and provide help and treatment to those suffering from substance abuse disorders.
The operation proved to be a resounding success, with various drugs being confiscated, including crack, fentanyl, heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine, and prescription drugs. Outreach providers made 231 contacts with individuals suffering from substance abuse disorders during the operation.
Among the items seized during the operation, a traffic stop conducted by Lavender’s office, in conjunction with the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force, resulted in the confiscation of nearly 7 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, 1 ounce of fentanyl, and two firearms.
