CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A local man reported to the police that he was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday evening while walking in downtown Chillicothe.
The victim told the officers that he was walking in the area of East Fourth Street and Paint Street when two men passed him. Suddenly, the suspects stopped behind him and pointed a gun at his chest. They demanded money, and the victim complied by handing over almost $600.
According to the report obtained by the Guardian, the victim was able to describe the suspects. One of them, reports state, was a taller African American man, and the other was a Caucasian man with tattoos on his face, arm, and hands. He was wearing a tie-dyed shirt, and blue jeans, and carrying a black or blue book bag.
The police believe that the incident occurred at the intersection of Fourth Street and Paint Street, in the northwest corner of a nearby parking lot. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made so far. This is one of many recent incidents of a pedestrian being attacked near the downtown area.
