COLUMBUS, Ohio — Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is partnering with JobsOhio to support small business growth in Ohio. The partnership will enable Goldman Sachs to connect entrepreneurs across the state with 10,000 Small Businesses, a free education program that equips small business owners with practical skills to scale their businesses. JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation, will work with Goldman Sachs to recruit small businesses into the program, particularly underrepresented businesses. The program is delivered locally in partnership with community and technical colleges across Ohio.
Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted commented on the partnership, “Small businesses are vital to Ohio’s economy, and setting them up for success is a critical part of helping our local communities thrive.” Graduates from the program will be positioned for additional resources, such as the JobsOhio Inclusion Grant, as they seek access to capital. Nationally, over 13,600 businesses have graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, over 1,000 from Ohio, generating over $1.3 billion in revenue and employing over 16,600 people. The upcoming program application deadlines are June 6, 2023, for Cuyahoga Community College, June 9, 2023, for Columbus State Community College, Fall 2023 for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, and Winter 2024 for Sinclair Community College.
“This partnership with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a critical component to our inclusive growth strategy that complements our vision of an Ohio where every entrepreneur has access to resources and support to grow their business,” said J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO. Jessica Taylor, National Director of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, added, “We are excited about this partnership with JobsOhio, which has the network of business and industry partners needed to extend the reach of this important program.”
