ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Florida Youtuber is suing a group of Chillicothe residents for slander after they allegedly defamed him on social media.

Johnathon Riches, who goes by the name JLRO INVESTIGATES on YouTube, says that the residents called him a “stalker,” “doxer,” and “scammer.” They also accused him of not searching for missing people and of being connected to a wider network of “frauds.”

JLRO INVESTIGATES says that the residents’ statements are false and defamatory. He says that he is a legitimate journalist who has dedicated his life to helping people and bringing attention to unsolved cases. According to the man’s website, “Jonathan Lee Riches is a fearless investigator, dedicated to unveiling the truth and exposing secrets that others dare not touch. With a keen eye for detail and an unyielding determination to challenge the status quo, he delves into the unknown and shares his discoveries with the world. Focusing on the present, Jonathan has built an impressive online presence, connecting with a global community of truth-seekers and fellow explorers. His work spans across various platforms, including YouTube, podcasts, and his website, where he shares his findings, insights, and personal experiences.”

He is seeking damages in excess of $25,000 and says that the residents’ statements have caused him to lose business earnings, suffer injury to his personal and business reputation, and experience mental anguish and humiliation.
