CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Law enforcement agencies and numerous first responders were dispatched to the Ross County Jail following reports of a mass overdose incident.

It happened Sunday night just after 9 p.m.
According to preliminary information from dispatchers, multiple individuals within the jail facility have overdosesd. One person, per reports, was undergoing CPR, underscoring the gravity of the situation. The exact number of affected patients remains uncertain at press time, intensifying concerns and heightening the urgency of the response efforts.
Emergency medical personnel from the city’s fire department, as well as neighboring Scioto Township EMS, have arrived on the scene.
Additionally, troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol responded.
The city and surrounding townships ran out of ambulances, causing deputies to transport victims in the back of their cruisers.
