ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Two people were stabbed early Sunday morning during a weekend house party.
It happened on Graves Road at around 1:30 a.m.
Deputies had been called to the party earlier in the night for a disturbance, only to be sent back a short time later for the double-stabbing.
One person with a deep laceration was driven to the local hospital by a friend before deputies arrived, while another with a superficial stab wound was taken by ambulance. One of the stabbing victims was later flown to Columbus.
The man who was identified by eyewitnesses as the suspect ran from the party. Deputies searched the property for the man, while troopers who were headed to the scene passed a vehicle on Marietta Road. Law enforcement ran the license plate to the car that was passing and it came back to someone with the same last name as the suspect.
Troopers, deputies, and officers from Chillicothe stopped the car at a gas station on Bridge Street. Inside, deputies found the man who they said was responsible for the stabbings, however, the man required his own medical attention. Deputies said he had been beaten badly all over his body and requested an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
The events surrounding the stabbing were not immediately released. The names of those involved were not released.
