CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Paints are proud to announce a wide-ranging partnership with Chillicothe-based CohenOrthopedic, making the world-class orthopedist the club’s presenting partner during the 2023 season.
“Dr. Cohen’s passion to give back to the community was the driving force of this partnership,” said Chillicothe Paints President Bryan Wickline. “The Paints have been tremendously supported by the region for 30 years, but we strive every year to create new relationships that take us to the next level. CohenOrthopedic is one of those corporate partners that will help take the Paints to that next level.
Entering their 30th season, the Chillicothe Paints have a tradition of providing championship baseball and fun, affordable, family entertainment for the Scioto Valley.
On the field, since becoming a founding member of the Prospect League ahead of the 2009 season, the Paints are the league’s most successful organization in terms of wins (446), playoff appearances (10) and championships (3). Most recently, the Paints won the 2022 Prospect League Championship, the club’s second in a span of three seasons.
Off the field, the Paints are a perennial league and national collegiate summer baseball leader in both per-game and total attendance. Paints players and staff regularly give back to the community by making appearances at and donations to charitable events, schools, youth camps and other similar functions.
“As we enter our 30th season, we’re excited about the new promotional giveaways we have on the schedule,” added Wickline. “One of those, back by popular demand, is a 2022 replica Prospect LeagueChampionship Ring giveaway. CohenOrthopedic solidified that giveaway for our fans by sponsoring those rings. It’s another fantastic Paints offering that will be loved for years.”
Dr. Brian Cohen is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon serving southern Ohio. Brian is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Cohen moved to Ross County in August of 2000. “I was an outsider that was adopted by the community, I grew up professionally here, never forgot the kindness that was given. I dedicated 20+ years to try and develop and deliver high quality patient focused musculoskeletal care, while giving back to the community, system and staff that supported me,” stated Dr. Cohen. While he is best known for his skill in the operating room, elsewhere, many of his actions have been anonymous. From supporting staff through hardship, caring for his patients outside of the hospital setting, contributing to county fairs, community events and sports programs within multiple regions.
The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, open the 2023 season on the road Wednesday, May 31. They get the home portion of their schedule started a day later, Thursday, June 1, at VA Memorial Stadium when they host the Champion City Kings at 7:05 p.m., kicking off a season-long celebration of the club’s 30th summer of baseball.
