PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the victim found dead along Route 772 in Pike County.
It happened Sunday morning when a passerby reportedly found the victim in the 9000 block of the highway, laying in the roadway, covered in blood. The official cause of death has not been released. Per the report provided by the sheriff’s office, a gun was involved in the crime.
The Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) to assist in the investigation.
The victim was identified as Luke Bricker. As per his Facebook page, Bricker was originally from Scioto County.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain undisclosed by law enforcement. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office, their report says, is treating the case as a homicide.
A potential motive in the case and the name of any persons of interest have not been publicly released.
