PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Workforce & Business Development Program at the Community Action Committee of Pike County will offer a class on Positive Performance Coaching on Wednesday, July 19th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The class will take place at the OSU Small Business Development Center, located at 1862 Shyville Road in Piketon.

During the class, participants will gain knowledge about the Positive Performance Coaching Process, which can be applied to performance conversations. The primary objective of this process is to establish trust and honesty with employees while delivering constructive feedback that has a positive and enduring impact on their performance. The ultimate outcome of employing this approach is a happier workforce that feels valued, respected, and has confidence in their supervisors. Consequently, this leads to consistent improvement in performance. The class will be led by Erica Jones and Adam Days, who are experts from the Workforce & Business Development Program.

By implementing the Positive Coaching Process, individuals can engage in productive discussions with each team member regarding their performance, free from the fear of rejection or criticism. This approach aims to provide the necessary support and guidance to help team members develop their skills and capabilities, enabling them to reach their full potential. As a result, this positive performance coaching fosters employee satisfaction, creates opportunities for promotions, and increases retention within the organization.

“The impact of Positive Performance Coaching on employees can significantly influence the overall performance of the business,” stated Lisa Pfeifer, Director of the Workforce & Business Development Program. “When individuals receive positive feedback instead of negative criticism, it has a lasting effect that continues to strengthen with each person.”

There is a registration fee of $15, and registration is required to attend the class. To register, please contact Adam Days at [email protected] or (740) 289-2371.
