CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A search for a missing autistic child safely ended Saturday in Chillicothe.

A call went into the city police around 8 p.m. that a 15-year-old special needs boy was missing. The young boy, who was last seen wearing an orange shirt, shorts, and carrying a suitcase went missing from Yoctangee Park.

The Guardian broke the story that a search was underway. Within 15 minutes of the news article being published online, a Guardian reader found the boy after reading the news.

The child was spotted walking in WalMart parking lot on River Trace lane, according to Tiffany McQueary, who called police after seeing the missing report on the Guardian.

The child was safely taken into the care of police unharmed.
