CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday. According to the police department, officers were dispatched to the area of Riverside and North Bridge Street.
According to the report, officers located three African American males and three white males in the vicinity where the shooting allegedly took place. Two of the white males attempted to walk away but were detained for further investigation. Officers discovered a .380 round in the pocket of one of the juveniles, who claimed to have no knowledge of the shooting.
During the search, officers found a loaded handgun and a plastic bag full of ammunition inside a drawstring bag belonging to one of the juveniles.
Two of the juveniles were taken into custody. One was charged with obstruction and discharging a firearm. Another juvenile charged with obstruction and carrying a concealed weapon. The remaining juveniles were released into the care of their parents.
It is important to note that all individuals involved in this case were under the age of 18. No injuries were reported in the incident.
In the past 24 months, there have been over 30 shootings reported in the Chillicothe area, with the majority being committed by young adults and juveniles.
