ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Deputies in Ross County are investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday.

According to reports, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Dry Run Road after receiving a report of a possible drive-by shooting.

Upon arrival, they spoke to the caller, who said that she saw an older model (90s or early 2000s) greyish/goldish color possibly a Toyota drive down the shared lane and turn around in her driveway. The caller went on to say that there were two occupants of the vehicle: a male whom she was unable to describe and a young female with blonde hair. She said that the vehicle drove down the lane, and she believed that someone inside fired a gun.

Deputies also located the residence that had reportedly been shot at and spoke with the residents. One of the residents, deputies said, was reluctant to share any information and said that he believed the loud noise was a firecracker. Another resident provided a different account of the incident.

The individual reported that she had just been dropped off at the home and believed someone inside the vehicle fired a gun. The woman also told deputies that she believes the vehicle was stolen. The woman was hesitant to provide any information and advised that she did not wish to pursue charges. She seemed scared, the deputies noted. The vehicle in question was reportedly seen leaving the property and going toward State Route 180 on Dry Run Road.

No injuries were reported in the shooting. The investigation, officials said, is ongoing.
