CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — On July 22, officers with the Chillicothe Police Department were dispatched to the 700 block of Monroe Avenue in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a resident who reported hearing two or three shots but did not see any vehicles or individuals fleeing the scene.
The resident told officers that they had removed a bullet from the living room wall before their arrival. Officers found a broken window with a bullet hole in it. Another resident stated that she was upstairs when she heard a loud noise but was unaware of its source.
According to the residents, the incident is possibly related to someone associated with the “5K boys” gang. The resident was initially uncooperative in providing further details to officers. A round found on the living room floor was photographed and collected as evidence. An officer documented the scene with photographs.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Chillicothe Police Department.
