FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a felonious assault incident that occurred earlier today in the 3000 block of Route 62.
According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the incident was brought to their attention when a 9-1-1 hang-up call was received at the Communications Center on Monday morning at 4:01 a.m. Upon making contact with the caller, it was revealed that a domestic incident of some kind had taken place, prompting deputies to respond immediately.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a male individual inside a vehicle near the residence, suffering from stab wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the location, and the injured male was swiftly transported to Adena Fayette Medical Center for medical attention. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
When deputies arrived at the incident location, they encountered a female outside the home. The deputies noticed that she had sustained injuries, and she, too, was taken to Adena Fayette Medical Center for treatment.
As of now, no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the incident, as detectives are still actively investigating the matter. Further details and updates will be released to the public as they become available.
