ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Ross County deputies were dispatched to the area of South Bridge Street and Lunbeck Rd. on Monday after a report of an urn sitting on the guardrail. When deputies arrived, they located the urn and placed it into evidence for safekeeping. There was nobody near the urn, nor any vehicles nearby.
An investigation was opened into the matter. Upon opening the urn, deputies found a silver tag on the bag with the capital letter H and a reference number. Deputies requested the after hours number for Hallers, a local funeral home, so they could speak to them. The Hallers employee, per the report, told the deputies that they would be able to see if the number on the tag matched any of their records in the morning.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
