CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An inmate at the Ross County Jail reportedly assaulted a deputy on Wednesday.
The inmate, John Rohrer, who was locked up on an Aggravated Burglary charge, allegedly refused to come out of his cell when Sergeant Tim Claytor and Deputy Allen Reed went to move him to a different cell. Rohrer accused the deputies of wanting to rape him and then stuck his fingers in Claytor’s eyes.
Claytor and Reed were able to subdue Rohrer and move him to the other cell. Claytor was taken to Ohio State University Hospital for treatment of his eyes.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are expected against Rohrer for his alleged assault.
