ROSS COUNTY , Ohio — A Ross County firefighter tragically lost his home and all his possessions in a fire on Saturday.
Dale Ferguson, who serves both Scioto and Union Township fire departments, found himself in a situation he is all too familiar with, but this time it was his own home engulfed in flames. The young firefighter, known for his dedication and service, faced the irony of battling the very disaster he works tirelessly to prevent for others.
In response to the devastation, fellow firefighters and the broader community have mobilized to support one of their own. The Scioto Township Fire Department has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Ferguson rebuild his life.
“Seeing one of our own face such a tragedy is heartbreaking,” said a representative from the Scioto Township Fire Department. “We hope the community can come together to help Dale in his time of need.”
Donations can be made to the fund set up for Ferguson on the GoFundMe website. The campaign aims to raise money to assist Ferguson in recovering from the losses and getting back on his feet.
