CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A series of car thefts unfolded over the weekend, targeting two dealerships in the Chillicothe area. Police said they believe teens to be the bandits.
According to reports, three vehicles were stolen, with one incident revealing potential connections to a previous theft.
Officers responded to Herrnstein Car Dealership where it was learned that a 2021 Infiniti Q50 had been stolen from their lot. Surveillance footage captured a Black BMW circling the premises, occupied by multiple black juveniles. Notably, one individual matched the description and attire of a suspect involved in a recent double theft at Hometown Auto Sales, where two cars had been stolen the night before.
In addition to the stolen vehicle, vandalism was reported on a truck adjacent to the Infiniti’s parking spot. Investigating the scene, broken clear glass from the truck and darker/tinted glass, presumed to be from the Infiniti’s windows, were discovered. Shoe prints near the scene further suggested the involvement of the same individuals.
The investigation remains pending as authorities work to piece together the details of these interconnected car thefts.
