CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Historical Society Junior Members invite the community to step back in time at their upcoming program, “Gifts and Games from the Past.” Taking place on Saturday, December 14th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, the event promises a nostalgic journey at the McKell Library located at 39 West 5th Street.
Participants will delve into the holiday spirit of yesteryears, engaging in Victorian parlor games that challenge the mind while providing entertainment. Attendees will have the opportunity to craft ornaments and gifts, ensuring a festive touch for their families to cherish in the years ahead. The program also features a glimpse into the museum’s collections, showcasing toys and games that were once beloved playthings over a century ago.
To cap off the historical festivities, attendees can savor a cup of cider and indulge in holiday cookies. Given the popularity of the event, space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Prospective participants can secure their spots by calling the Historical Society offices at 772-1936 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
While the program is complimentary for current Junior Members, non-members are welcome to join the festivities for a fee of $5.00. Non-members opting to participate not only gain access to this enchanting event but also receive a one-year membership, inclusive of the newsletter “History-Mystery News,” and complimentary admission to the museum, along with other exclusive Junior Member programs. Don’t miss this opportunity to relive the magic of holidays gone by with the Ross County Historical Society Junior Members.
