CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Heavy winds and rain caused a tree to topple onto an apartment complex, trapping a man inside.
It happened Friday night at Applegate Apartments on Western Avenue in Chillicothe.
The tree was allegedly dead, according to tenants, who said they had been asking property managers to “cut them down” out of fear for safety.
“….just tumbled over onto an apartment after we have been telling them to cut down the dead trees,” one tenant told the news media.
The local fire department responded to help free the man from his apartment.
Only minor injuries were reported, but severe structural damage was sustained to the roof.
