PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Community Action Committee proudly announces the COAD Scholarship for 2024, extending a helping hand to students across the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development service area.
David V. Stivison Legacy: The scholarship is named after David V. Stivison, a former COAD employee, and a distinguished individual from Hocking County, Ohio. A graduate of Ohio University and Harvard Law School, Stivison’s legacy is commemorated through the David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund. This fund aims to honor Stivison’s commitment to academic excellence and his passion for empowering others to reach their fullest potential.
Eligibility: The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students residing in the 30 counties within the COAD service area. It is specifically intended for those who aspire to attend college but face financial constraints.
