Franklin Township Fire receives grant for improved landing zone

ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Franklin Township Fire Department in Ross County has been awarded a $4,600 grant from the South Central Power Operation Round Up Grant program. The grant will go towards partially funding the purchase of landing zone lights for the designated helicopter landing zone located at their station.

The grant program, administered by South Central Power Company, provides financial assistance to local communities for projects that enhance public safety and improve the quality of life for residents.

The addition of landing zone lights will significantly improve the department’s ability to receive critically ill or injured patients via helicopter transport, especially during nighttime or challenging weather conditions.
