ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — New information has shed light on the fatal pedestrian crash that occurred last Monday on Route 23 near Maple Lane.
Previously identified as Timothy Oyer, 53, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Scioto Township EMS. His injuries from the impact with a southbound Pontiac Torrent, driven by Melissa Irvin, 53, were extensive, said deputies.
The official report from the sheriff’s office details skid marks leading from the center of Maple Lane to his final resting place in the south ditch. Debris, including a green toboggan and a bottle of Pepsi, were also found at the scene.
A driver following Ms. Irvin stated she was traveling in her lane at the time of the impact and witnessed the crash.
Ms. Irvin sustained minor injuries and was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
