WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) unveiled today that the Community Action Committee of Pike County has been granted funding to bolster their existing revolving loan funds, catering to small businesses within Pike County. The grant, secured through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program, aims to provide essential technical assistance to support local entrepreneurs.
“Small businesses create jobs, expand Ohio’s economy, and support communities across the state – and this investment will ensure that they have the access to capital they need to grow and thrive,” remarked Brown, emphasizing the significance of the grant in fostering economic growth and sustainability.
Senator Brown, serving as the first Ohio senator on the Senate Agriculture Committee in over 50 years, played a pivotal role in the reauthorization of the Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program through the 2018 Farm Bill. His active involvement underscores the commitment to fostering rural economic development and supporting small business initiatives throughout Ohio and beyond.
