POMEROY, Ohio — On February 24th, Meigs County Deputies were kept busy with a range of incidents throughout the day. Here’s a breakdown of their activities:
At 12:18 AM, deputies assisted the State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop on US-33 in Pomeroy. One individual, identified as Savannah Hunt, was taken into custody on a warrant from Meigs County Juvenile Court and transported to the Middleport Jail.
Shortly after, at 12:57 AM, assistance was provided to Pomeroy PD for a non-injury accident on Lincoln Hill. Pomeroy PD handled the remainder of the incident.
At 6:14 AM, a traffic stop was conducted on McElhinney Hill Rd in Middleport. The driver received a verbal warning for headlights.
Later in the morning, at 10:19 AM, an animal complaint was reported on SR 143 near Zion Rd in Rutland.
Around 11:38 AM, deputies responded to a domestic violence incident on SR 681 in Albany. After speaking with the victim and obtaining her statement, the suspect, identified as Jeremiah Shields, was located, taken into custody, and transported to the Middleport Jail on charges of domestic violence.
In the afternoon, at 3:16 PM, assistance was provided to Syracuse PD with a traffic stop on SR 124 in Syracuse. Syracuse PD managed the remainder of the incident.
At 4:20 PM, deputies were dispatched to a residential alarm call on SR 248 in Long Bottom. However, they were canceled en route by the alarm company.
Closing in on evening, at 6:55 PM, a complaint of threats was investigated on New Lima Rd in Rutland. Deputies spoke with the caller and obtained her statement for a report. The incident is currently under investigation.
