POMEROY, Ohio — Meigs County Deputies responded to various incidents throughout the day on Thursday.

At 10:53 AM, deputies were called to assist CPS with a home check on Blackwood Rd in Rutland. The nature of the check was not disclosed.

Shortly after, at 12:52 PM, deputies took a report for a non-injury crash on 2nd St in Syracuse. Details regarding the crash were not provided.

At 1:40 PM, deputies conducted a warrant service on Rose Hill Rd in Pomeroy, accompanied by the adult parole authority. Emily Smith was apprehended for a parole violation and transported to Middleport Jail.

Later, at 2:36 PM, deputies responded to a report of threats and harassment on SR 124 in Pomeroy. The specifics of the incident were not disclosed.

A domestic violence incident was reported at 5:29 PM on Dye Rd in Rutland. Deputies mediated the situation and advised both parties to stay separated. Fortunately, the situation was resolved peacefully.

At 7:52 PM, deputies took a report for theft on Goff Rd in Langsville. Details about the stolen items were not provided.

Finally, at 11:04 PM, deputies assisted Pomeroy PD with a traffic stop on SR 124 in Pomeroy. Middleport PD also arrived to assist in securing the scene, with Pomeroy PD handling the remainder of the stop.
