CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A man claiming to be and angel from God is behind bars today after a disturbing incident Wednesday near the Pleasant Valley Trailer Park in Ross County.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies received a call regarding a man with a machete at a church on East Valley Drive. Upon arrival deputies located the individual, later identified as Earl Anderson II. Earl, deputies reported, tried to run before being stopped in his tracks by the deputies taser.
Upon further investigation deputies learned of the erratic and startling behavior of Anderson. Earlier in the day, a resident of Zickafoose Lane reported seeing a man standing in his driveway wearing a green hoodie and holding a machete. When the resident reportedly opened his door, the man in the driveway demanded to speak with another individual. That person was not connected with the property, and the homeowner was unaware of anyone by that name. After the homeowner called 911, the individual, later believed to be Earl Anderson ran from the property, leaving the machete behind.
Anderson, while speaking with deputies, allegedly made comments that he was the Archangel Michael, and had been sent to deal with the devil. The man, the report states, made even stranger claims of speaking with the devil prior to the incident. The man then claimed to be the son of infamous cartel leader “El Chapo”.
Upon a search of Anderson deputies located a broken meth pipe, and a zip gun. The zip gun was reportedly manufactured by using a 5mm socket, a nail as a firing pin, and a pistol cartridge.
He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Ross County Jail. During the transport, deputies said that Anderson continue to state that he was an angel sent by God to take care of the devil.
