George "Billy" Wagner III is led into the Pike County Common Pleas Courthouse by officers of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for his first pre-trial hearing in nearly a year. He has been held at the Butler County Jail since he was arrested with other Wagner family members in November 2018.

PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The trial for accused mass murderer Billy Wagner has been postponed until 2025, as decided by a Pike County court. Wagner is one of four family members accused of playing a role in the Pike County Massacre that resulted in the deaths of 8 members of the Rhoden family.

During a recent court appearance, Wagner’s attorneys informed the court that they would not be prepared for trial by the original date of May 6, 2024. Meanwhile, Wagner’s wife Angela and their two sons, George IV and Jake, have already faced their sentence for the crime. Angela and Jake Wagner have pleaded guilty to their involvement in the killings, while George IV was found guilty by a jury in Pike County.

Billy Wagner’s new trial date is now scheduled for January 6, 2025, marking a further delay in delivering justice for the victims of the Pike County Massacre.
