CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Suspect gets away after police in Chillicothe call off overnight pursuit. It happened during the early morning hours on Wednesday.  

The incident, authorities said, began when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a green Chevy Blazer (license plate JYQ5731) at the intersection of E Main Street and the on-ramp to US 35 West. According to the police report provided to the Guardian, the driver, identified as Blake Madru, was suspected of driving under suspension. 

Upon activation of emergency lights and sirens, the vehicle reportedly continued to travel on US 35 West. Despite the fleeing suspect, officers were ordered to terminate the chase, per Chillicothe Police Department policy. 

A check of the Ross County Jail roster revealed that Madru is not currently in custody at this time. No further details on the case and potential charges have been released by police officials.
