LOGAN, Ohio — A documentary was released online on Monday ahead of Election Day outlining a corruption case that has caught the curiosity of many.
“Framed: The Caleb Moritz Story” is a 30-minute long mini-documentary, edited with video, audio, and pictures; it details the story of Caleb Moritz, the former Chief Deputy of the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, who is now under felony indictment. The indictments, the documentary alludes, are politically motivated by Moritz’s former boss, the county Sheriff.
According to the video, Moritz is challenging the county’s top cop, Sheriff Lanny North in Tuesday’s primary. While North is Moritz’s former boss, the documentary lays out a series of draw-dropping evidence that calls North’s honest and integrity into question; while stopping at nothing to keep his job.
Moritz, who is facing three felony counts after he resigned from his job almost a year ago, is accused of keeping Sheriff’s office property and “intimidating a witness” in a criminal trial that is set to go before a Hocking County jury next month. The video, however, outlines secret audio recordings, videos, and text messages that questions the validity of the charges and shines light on the indictments that shows they could be politically motivated.
The video, which is free to watch on Facebook was shared one day before the primary election, where North and Moritz will face-off head-to-head.
