According to the family of the glass company owners, multiple families residing in apartments surrounding Perry Glass were also affected by the fire. However, there is one family in particular whose apartment was directly caught in the flames. They are in urgent need of assistance, and the GoFundMe account aims to provide much-needed support.
Fire Breaks Out Late Wednesday Evening
The incident began late Wednesday evening when officers from the Waverly Police Department noticed flames coming from the intersection of W. North Street and Market Street. Firefighters from Pike and Ross counties joined to battle the blaze. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported, and the two individuals affected were transported to Adena Pike Medical Center for treatment before being released.
Businesses Impacted by the Blaze
The fire had a significant impact on local businesses. Among those affected were:
- Denny’s Doghouse: The popular eatery suffered damage due to the fire.
- Jessica’s Attic: This beloved establishment also faced challenges as a result of the blaze.
- Garnet A. Wilson Public Library: The library sustained water, smoke, and minor fire damage to its first floor and basement.
