CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe pizza delivery driver reported being assaulted by a customer over the weekend.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, the driver stated they attempted a delivery to a residence in the 300 block of West Water Street. After receiving no answer at the door initially, the driver recounted returning to their vehicle and calling the customer three times. Upon returning to the door, the driver alleges the customer became irate.
The driver reported that after offering the food to the customer, they were then assaulted. The details of the assault included being kicked in the stomach and thrown to the ground. The customer allegedly retrieved a baseball bat and attempted to strike the driver’s car as they were leaving the scene, though unsuccessfully.
Police officers responded and spoke with the driver but observed no visible injuries. Officers then proceeded to the West Water Street residence but were unable to make contact with anyone at the location.
As of now, no charges have been filed in the case. The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating the incident.
