CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The trial is slated to begin today for William M. Harman Jr., a Ross County man facing charges of felonious assault and possessing a weapon under disability.
The charges stem from an incident on July 20th, 2023, when the Ross County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a shooting on Dry Run Road at approximately 3:30 PM. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a male victim with a gunshot wound who was subsequently transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators determined Harman was at a neighboring residence and established a perimeter around the building. Following a brief standoff, Harman exited the residence and was arrested without further incident.
If convicted, Harman faces a potential sentence of up to ten years in prison.
