WELLSTON, Ohio — A joint police operation in Wellston led to the seizure of a dangerous mix of drugs and the arrest of a suspect on Sunday night, April 7th.
Officers from the Wellston Police Department, Jackson Police Department, and the Jackson County Municipal Court Probation Department executed a search warrant on South New York Avenue. During the search, officers discovered approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, along with drug trafficking materials.
Michael D. Merrill, 49, of South New York Avenue, was arrested at the scene and jailed in the Jackson County Correctional Facility for a probation violation. According to authorities, additional charges related to the drug seizure are pending review by the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney.
