This honor acknowledges his rapid and decisive response in administering Narcan and providing assistance to a customer in distress at his store.
On March 24, 2024, Quansah’s prompt intervention was instrumental in saving a life. He administered Narcan and provided crucial aid to an individual experiencing an overdose. His swift action and empathetic care exemplify the ethos of the PORT initiative, a collaborative effort of multiple organizations dedicated to offering essential resources and support to those impacted by overdoses.

The Ross County Post Overdose Response Team (PORT) is a coalition of organizations that includes the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe Police Department, Chillicothe Fire Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Adena Health, Hope Partnership Project (HPP), Ross County Health District, Ross County Community Action, and peer recovery supporters.
This team leverages data to conduct visits to individuals who have overdosed and their families, offering treatment options and resources to address mental health issues, homelessness, and more. During these visits, the team provides a PORT bag filled with valuable resources.
