CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Humane Society is ready to build! The organization will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its long-awaited new animal shelter on May 9, 2024, at 1:30 PM. The new facility, located at 2308 Lick Run Road in Chillicothe, will give the Humane Society more space and resources to care for animals in need.
“This groundbreaking is a major step towards a brighter future for animals in Ross County,” said Jenn Thomas, Executive Director of the Ross County Humane Society. “This new shelter isn’t just about more space; it’s about more opportunities to help animals and the people who love them.”
The ceremony will feature speeches from Humane Society leadership, along with those who helped make the new shelter possible.
“We can’t wait to share this celebration with everyone who made this dream a reality,” Thomas added. “The community’s support has been the key to getting us here.”
